Hi, I’m back with a follow up video to my morning routine to tell you about my night time routine. I have to admit, I dread getting ready for bed, because most of the time, I’m just plain exhausted. But no matter how tired I am, I never skip this routine. I can’t stress to you enough how important it is to make sure you take off all of your makeup before going to sleep. Keeping the makeup on clogs your pores, which causes acne and it can also result in unnecessary exposure to the free radicals in the environment. Those free radicals can breakdown healthy collagen and cause the development of fine lines and prematurely aged skin. Bacteria can also gather in your pores. Your skin also needs to breathe and repair itself. I also want to point out that these products work great for my skin. That doesn’t necessarily mean they will definitely work for your skin. But if it helps to know, I have combination skin and I tend to get oily and breakout only in the T zone.

So, with that being said, here is my night time routine: (Some of this will be duplicates of what I use in the morning as well)

The first thing I do is cleanse my face thoroughly to make sure I get all the makeup off. My cleanser is one product that I definitely switch up from time to time. Right now I’m washing my face with Olay Cleansing Infusion with ginger extract. ($6.89) It’s a mild exfoliant so it’s safe to use every day. Ginger is great for anti-ageing, blemishes and acne, and skin toning.

You’ll notice I’m using a soft exfoliater with the cleanser. It’s the Sephora precision pore cleansing pad to really get into the pores and clean the face without being too aggressive. It’s only $6 and I literally use it every single day. I haven’t really broken out since I started using it either. (Yes, at 45, I still do get an occasional pimple) I would say maybe one every 6 months or so. Not so bad. This is one product I never switch up. I use it in the morning and at night. It’s excellent. At night, I spend a little extra time with this step because in the morning, obviously, you don’t have any make up on. So, in the morning it’s just a quick wash and rinse.

Then I take any remaining makeup off of my eyes I use Neutragena oil free makeup remover. ($6.99) It’s really light and does a great job. Be sure to be gentle around the eyes and that goes for women of any age.

Next I use a toner to get any excess oils from my face. Right now I’m using Bobbi Brown Extra Treatment Lotion ($68). It does the trick without drying out my skin. (This is expensive so if you want a more inexpensive toner, I recommend using Bert’s Bees rosewater toner. ($10).) It’s a natural facial toner that has mild astringent properties and afterward my face feels cleaner and refreshed. It also helps to maximize the benefits of your moisturizer.

The next product I use is RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Chest, Neck & Face Cream ($27.99). Featuring Hexinol Technology, this night cream helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness and elasticity, loss of radiance, and unevenness of skin tone. Gotta love that!

The next product I use is Shisedo Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Night Cream ($63). Offers visible reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and helps promote silky smooth skin condition while encouraging recovery by morning.

After that, I use Nature’s Way Coconut Oil Extra Virgin Organic ($22.99) (32oz). I use this for my eyelashes to try and help them grow since I damaged them with lash extensions. I find that this also takes off any remaining mascara that was left on my lashes. I’ve also heard that Coconut Oil is good for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, so it’s an extra benefit for me.

Then I use Bite Beauty Agave Sugar Lip Scrub ($18). It’s a gentle lip scrub that cleanses, exfoliates, and conditions lips with raw brown sugar, pineapple enzymes and exotic oils, leaving them beautifully smooth and soft.

Then I use Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm ($18). It’s a perfect soothing balm for ultimate hydration and recovery that quickly repairs and restores lips.

Now the next skincare product I use is the MAC Prep + Prime Fix Water Mist ($26). It’s a nice refresher right before bedtime and great for helping my last skin care product soak into my skin. I just spritz it on and then use:

Beauty Sleep Elixir ($65). It’s a super boost of vitamins, minerals and omegas 3,5,6,7 and 9. Softalia counteracts inflammation and Caribbean coral neutralizes the enzyme responsible for skin aging, acne and sunburn. Beauty Sleep Elixir promotes all natural skin care by using 14 precious plant oils to support skin barrier function, a key role in fighting inflammation.

So, right before I crawl into bed, I have my BeautyCounter Lip Conditioner in Peppermint ($22) sitting on my night stand. I quickly put that on my lips as an extra moisturizer for my lips. It not only smells great, but it’s also a great added benefit for my lips while I sleep.

Last but not least, I spray my pillow with Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Lavender Chamomile Sleep Pillow Mist. ($24) The smell of lavender and chamomile helps soothe and calm to enhance a better night’s sleep. A good night’s sleep is extremely important. Ideally I try for 8 hrs but realistically I get about 7 hours of sleep per night. In addition to that, I sleep with a silk pillow case. I found that silk is better at keeping in moisture than cotton. Also, silk doesn’t pick up as much pore-clogging bacteria either. Even better yet, silk is known to cause less breakage of hair because it’s naturally a smoother surface.

If you haven’t noticed a theme in my night time routine, I will let you know what it is. Hydration, Hydration, Hydration. It’s an absolute must for my skin.

I’ve listed all of the products below and I have them listed on my website as well.

Ok, so that’s my video on my nightime routine. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed it. Please like it, comment and subscribe. It would make my day! Take care and I’ll see you next time.
